How to Get into the Capital One Lounge

Capital One has become more involved in the travel industry in recent years. In 2018, the issuer introduced airline and hotel transfer partners to its credit card rewards program, and more recently, it upgraded its partner transfer ratios and expanded its travel site to drive reservations and establish itself as a serious contender in travel and loyalty programs.

Now, the issuer is venturing into airport lounges for the first time. As of Nov. 4 2021, Capital One has formally opened the doors to its first-ever lounge at Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport.

The lounge provides passengers with a variety of amenities that they won't find at other lounges in the United States, helping to establish Capital One from its legacy lounge rivals in a number of ways.

Where to Find Capital One Lounges?

As mentioned, there’s one Capital One Lounge open in Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport at the moment. According to Capital One Travel, two more lounges will open in major airports in 2022, at Denver, Colorado and Washington, DC.

Here are the details of what we know so far.

While Capital One's lounge network is currently limited, Venture X cardholders have access to over 1,200 additional lounges worldwide via Priority Pass.

Venture X cards receive a Priority Pass membership, which includes complimentary entry to any Priority Pass lounge for the cardholder and two guests.

Furthermore, participation in the Venture X entitles you to complimentary meals (up to a certain amount) at Priority Pass airport restaurants - a feature that other cards, such as Amex, have eliminated. Check the Priority Pass website for the most up-to-date information on dining policies.

Important note: You must request the Priority Pass card and have it with you to utilize the benefit.

Also, keep in mind that authorized users can be added to the card for free and receive the same lounge access benefits as regular cardholders.

Can You Get Into Capital One Lounges By Paying Cash?

Capital lounges are open to all travelers for a fee of $65 per visit.

If you have children under the age of two, cardmembers and those who are paying in cash may bring them for free.

Final Things To Note

All Capital One Lounge visitors must provide a boarding pass for a departing flight or a connecting same-day flight up to three hours before departure.

Because of this limitation, you will be unable to enter the Capital One Lounge upon arrival unless you have a connection.
