Eligibility

The World of Hyatt Credit Card is affected by the  Chase 5/24 rule. If you have opened more than 5 credit cards or charge cards from any credit issuers in the past 24 months, you do not qualify for the welcome offer.

In addition, you are not eligible for the welcome offer if:

• you are a current card member of any Hyatt credit card
• you are a previous card member of any Hyatt card who received a new welcome offer within the last 24 months

The World of Hyatt card is ideal for those who want hotel status, a free night certificate each cardmember anniversary, and good point redemption value.

With free night redemption starting at 5,000 points (Category 1), the World of Hyatt credit card is one of our favorite hotel cards. If you redeem the 50,000 point welcome offer at Category 1 Hyatt hotels, you get 10 free nights.

Hyatt is a  Chase Ultimate Rewards (UR) transfer partner, so if you need more Hyatt points to redeem, you can easily transfer  Chase UR points over to Hyatt.

Earn 2 points for every $1 spent on useful everyday categories like local transit, ride shares, dining, and gyms.  

Free anniversary night

The  Chase World of Hyatt card is a keeper card because it gives you a free anniversary night each cardmember year. The free night certificate can be redeemed at any Category 1-4 Hyatt hotel.

This means that if you signup for the card now, you'll receive a free night certificate in 12 months when you renew the card.

Since the annual fee is $95, if you redeem the night at a property worth more than $95/night, you'll get positive expected value.

If you find a property for $300, you're gaining $205 in value ($300 - $95).

You can also earn an extra anniversary night if you spend $15,000 on the card within your cardmember year.

How Much Are Hyatt Points Worth?

Hyatt points are generally valued at 2-4 cents per point. If you need more Hyatt points, you can convert  Chase Ultimate Reward points to Hyatt points (but not vice versa).

Hyatt is one of the best transfer partners for  Chase Ultimate Rewards because you can get 2 cents per point (CPP), depending on the Hyatt  property. If you use points at a popular property, you can get 3-4 CPP.  

• 2 cents per point (conservative)
• 3 CPP to 4 CPP (high demand / conventions OR aspirational)

Hyatt recently switched to dynamic points pricing, so prices vary based on off-peak, standard, and peak pricing. Check out the World of Hyatt points dynamic pricing chart here.

For example, if you redeem 5,000 points at a Category 1 Hotel that retails for $200/night, then you’re getting 4 cents per point in value.

Category 1 = 5,000 Hyatt points / 5,000  Chase UR points

• $100 a night / 5k points = 2 cents per point
• $200 a night / 5k points = 4 CPP

Hyatt Status

By having the World of Hyatt card, you'll automatically get Discoverist status as long as the card is active.

Hyatt status levels:

• Member => Discoverist => Explorist => Globalist

Hyatt points don't expire if you have an active Hyatt credit card. Otherwise, points expire after 24 months of inactivity.

To help you earn a higher status, the World of Hyatt card has status boost benefits.

Status boost:

• 5 nights towards status each year
• 2 nights towards status every $5,000 spend (no cap)

How to get status:

• Explorist = 30 night (OR 50k base points OR 10 meetings)
• Globalist = 60 night (OR 100k base points OR 20 meetings)
