San Antonio is a narrow market for Chase Sapphire Reserve® Exclusive Tables, so convenience and fit matter more than the up to $300 annual amount. Use the credit only if the current restaurants match your plans.

Quick Take

For San Antonio, Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables currently has a short list of 2 participating restaurants. The current list includes 1 restaurants that appear to be new since the earlier version. The credit is useful only if the restaurants fit how you already plan to dine.

How the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables Credit Works

Eligible Chase Sapphire Reserve® and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardmembers can receive up to $300 per calendar year in statement credits at Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables restaurants through OpenTable.

The credit is split into two windows:

  • Up to $150 from January 1 through June 30
  • Up to $150 from July 1 through December 31

To use the credit, dine at a participating Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables restaurant and pay with an eligible card. The credit does not apply to every OpenTable restaurant, unused credits do not roll over between the two six-month periods, and participating restaurants can change.

Eligible cardmembers can also link an eligible card on OpenTable for access to special or primetime reservation inventory. Terms apply.

Final Thoughts

San Antonio looks like a weak market for using the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables credit, but only if the eligible restaurants overlap with places you would actually visit.

For most readers, the fair value is whatever you would have spent at a participating San Antonio restaurant anyway. Anything beyond that is more coupon-book than cash.

Before booking, check the current OpenTable Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables page for San Antonio and make sure the restaurant is still participating.
