Rhode Island is a regional market, not one restaurant district. The credit can help if a listed restaurant fits your plans, but you should not assume every option is convenient for every trip.

Quick Take

For Rhode Island, Chase Sapphire Reserve® Exclusive Tables currently has a modest list of 4 participating restaurants. The credit is useful only if the restaurants fit how you already plan to dine.

How the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables Credit Works

Eligible Chase Sapphire Reserve® and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardmembers can receive up to $300 per calendar year in statement credits at Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables restaurants through OpenTable.

The credit is split into two windows:

  • Up to $150 from January 1 through June 30
  • Up to $150 from July 1 through December 31

To use the credit, dine at a participating Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables restaurant and pay with an eligible card. The credit does not apply to every OpenTable restaurant, unused credits do not roll over between the two six-month periods, and participating restaurants can change.

Eligible cardmembers can also link an eligible card on OpenTable for access to special or primetime reservation inventory. Terms apply.

Rhode Island Restaurants Currently on the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables List

Hemenway's

Hemenway’s is a longstanding Providence seafood restaurant known for fresh “top-of-catch” fish and shellfish in the capital city. The $150 half-year credit is straightforward here: put it toward oysters, seafood entrées, and drinks without turning dinner into a tasting-menu commitment.

Waterman Grille

Waterman Grille serves American food on the Seekonk River in an 1871 bridge gatehouse, with dinner nightly and weekend brunch. It is a practical credit use for waterfront dining, date night, or a small celebration where the setting matters as much as the menu.

Los Andes Restaurant

Los Andes in Providence serves Peruvian and Bolivian dishes in a lively, casual room with ceviche, empanadas, grilled meats, cocktails, and a patio with a waterfall and koi pond. The credit can stretch well here for a group ordering family-style.

Gracie's

Gracie’s is a downtown Providence theater-district restaurant focused on local, seasonal Contemporary American cooking and dietary-accommodation-friendly service. Use the credit before Trinity Rep or PPAC when you want a polished dinner close to the show.

Notable Picks

Best steakhouse option

Waterman Grille. This is the right bucket for a planned steakhouse night, not for someone trying to keep the check close to $150.

Best practical shortlist

Hemenway's, Los Andes Restaurant, Gracie's. Pick Hemenway’s for seafood, Los Andes for a larger Peruvian/Bolivian meal, and Gracie’s for a theater-district special occasion.

Final Thoughts

Rhode Island looks like a average market for using the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables credit, but only if the eligible restaurants overlap with places you would actually visit.

I would value the credit based on realistic use in Rhode Island, not the $300 annual amount. A restaurant you would not normally book is not the same as cash.

Before booking, check the current OpenTable Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables page for Rhode Island and make sure the restaurant is still participating.
