Pittsburgh is a narrow but potentially usable market for this credit. The main question is whether the participating restaurants match a meal you would choose without the Chase benefit.

Quick Take

For Pittsburgh, Chase Sapphire Reserve® Exclusive Tables currently has a short list of 2 participating restaurants. The current list includes 1 restaurants that appear to be new since the earlier version. The credit is useful only if the restaurants fit how you already plan to dine.

How the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables Credit Works

Eligible Chase Sapphire Reserve® and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardmembers can receive up to $300 per calendar year in statement credits at Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables restaurants through OpenTable.

The credit is split into two windows:

  • Up to $150 from January 1 through June 30
  • Up to $150 from July 1 through December 31

To use the credit, dine at a participating Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables restaurant and pay with an eligible card. The credit does not apply to every OpenTable restaurant, unused credits do not roll over between the two six-month periods, and participating restaurants can change.

Eligible cardmembers can also link an eligible card on OpenTable for access to special or primetime reservation inventory. Terms apply.

Pittsburgh Restaurants Currently on the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables List

ELEVEN

ELEVEN in the Strip District is a polished American restaurant from the Big Burrito group with seasonal menus built around regional farms, plus a more casual Tavern option. The credit is useful for a downtown/Strip dinner where you want a reliable upscale meal without tasting-menu rules.

Gi-Jin

Gi-Jin downtown is an intimate Japanese gin and raw bar focused on sushi, raw seafood, and precise two-hour seatings. Parties are capped small, so the $150 half-year credit works best for a two-person sushi night rather than a large group celebration.

Notable Picks

Best use if the list is narrow

Start with ELEVEN. A 2-restaurant list leaves very little room for backup plans, so check the current page before counting on the credit.

Best practical shortlist

ELEVEN, Gi-Jin. Start here if your goal is a usable dinner credit rather than the most expensive restaurant on the list.

Newly Added Restaurants

These restaurants appear to be new since the earlier version of the Pittsburgh Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables list:

  • Gi-Jin — currently showing for Pittsburgh as of this update.

Final Thoughts

Pittsburgh looks like a weak market for using the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables credit, but only if the eligible restaurants overlap with places you would actually visit.

I would value the credit based on realistic use in Pittsburgh, not the $300 annual amount. A restaurant you would not normally book is not the same as cash.

Before booking, check the current OpenTable Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables page for Pittsburgh and make sure the restaurant is still participating.
