The results from the above calculator are based on your ability to reach the minimum spend requirement to earn the welcome offer, your amount of spend on different categories, how you plan to redeem  Chase Ultimate Rewards®, and how much relative value you assign to the other benefits.  

The “Years” referenced in the calculator refer to the cardmember year, based on when you are approved for the card.

  • Year 1 = first 12 months of card membership
  • Year 2 = the following 12 months afterward

The Chase Ink Preferred is ideal for those who want a higher point redemption (25%) for travel by using the Chase Ultimate Rewards Travel Portal and access to transfer partners. 

Earn 3X points on up to $150,000 in combined purchases on internet, cable, and phone services, social media and search engine ads, shipping expenses, and travel. 

The benefit of having the Chase Ink Preferred is that you can pool Ultimate Rewards points together and redeem points for 1.25X or transfer the points out to transfer partners.

Cell Phone Protection


The Chase Ink Preferred is one of the few cards on the market that offer cell phone protection. Get up to $600 per claim, with up to 3 claims per 12 months; this comes out to $1,800 (maximum) for 3 claims in 12 months. There's a $100 deductible for each claim.

 You're covered for damage and theft, but only for phones that are purchased brand new. This means that refurbished or used phones do not qualify. 

Cell phone protection will reimburse the eligible cardholder for:

  • damage
  • theft
  • or involuntary and accidental parting of the eligible cell phone

How Much Are Chase Ultimate Rewards Points Worth?


Depending on how you plan on redeeming your Chase Ultimate Rewards points, they can be worth between 1-2 cents per point.
