Balance Transfer

A balance transfer is when you transfer debt from one credit card to another with an initial 0% APR for a specified period of time, generally six to 21 months. Balance transfers give you extra time to pay off your debt and can save you hundreds of dollars in interest. Balances cannot be transferred across cards issued by the same bank.
