Welcome Offer Eligibility
The Hilton Ascend was rebranded to the Hilton Surpass, so if you received a bonus from the Ascend in the past, you do not qualify for the offer.
American Express has a once in a lifetime rule that states you can only earn a welcome offer from each product once.
Hilton Weekend Certificate
Earn a free weekend certificate by spending $15,000 on the card in a calendar year.
A few important notes about the Hilton Weekend Night Reward:
A weekend night is defined as Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Certificates expire within a year they are credited to your account
Certificates stay in your Hilton account, even if you close the credit card
Certificates are valid for the standard base room only (you can still qualify for upgrades with elite status)
You must call the reservations hotline to redeem the weekend certificate
US & Canada number: 1-800-548-8690
You can redeem the weekend certificate at most hotel and resort properties
See a list of excluded properties here: http://hiltonhonors3.hilton.com/en/promotions/weekend-reward.html
It’s worth noting that Hilton properties cost more points compared to other hotel group currencies.
Park Hyatt Maldives = 30,000 Hyatt points / night
Conrad (Hilton) Maldives = 95,000 Hilton points / night
In addition to earning the welcome offer, you’ll need to accumulate more Hilton points for a 3-day weekend in the Maldives. The other strategy would be to accumulate Weekend Rewards to redeem instead.
Hilton “free” weekend night certificates provide the most value when you redeem them at aspirational properties like the Conrad Bora Bora Nui or the Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi.
Hilton uses dynamic point pricing, so there’s not an official page where you can find a list of hotel categories and pricing.
If you want to get an idea about how many points you’ll need to accumulate for a trip, check out Hilton’s Points Explorer Tool: https://pointsexplorer.hiltonhonors.com/ The tool isn’t always accurate, so check Hilton’s website for the most up to date pricing.
