One of the coolest perks most Amex Platinum cardholders aren’t aware of is free access to the Centurion Suite at the Staples Center.
The VIP space offers a full service bar and premium food selections for purchase. Suite capacity is limited at 150 people, so get there early! Admission is on a first come, first serve basis.
How to access the Centurion Suite at the Staples Center
The Centurion Suite at the Staples Center is open for most Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, and Los Angeles Clipper home games throughout the year.
The suite opens 90 minutes before the game starts, so arrive at the Staples Center early to beat the crowds. Be sure to check in early since they close the doors after 150 people check into the suite.
You’ll need to present your American Express Platinum or Centurion card and photo ID to access the suite. Once a team member checks you in, you’ll receive a wristband that grants you access and re-entry into the suite.
Amex Platinum and Centurion cardholders are allowed to bring up to 3 guests per card, subject to availability and capacity. All guests must be present upon check in.
Where to find the Centurion Suite
The suite is located on Suite Level B. Suite check-in is located on the main concourse across from aisle M22 (next to the Team LA Store).
Once you’ve been checked in, take the stairs or the elevator to Suite Level B.
You have to buy an admission ticket for a game to access the Staples Center, otherwise security won’t let you in.
The optimal strategy is to buy nosebleed tickets, arrive at the Staples Center more than 90 minutes early, and check into the Centurion Suite. The suite is located right above level 200, so it’s a nice upgrade from the 300's!
