When you consider the cash back bonus, the effective cash back is 1.65%.

Unless you're going after cards for the $150 signup bonus, there are better cash back cards out there. For example, the Citi Double Cash card earns 2% cash back on all purchases, which is better than the 1.65% with the HSBC card.
