Discover Deals is a cash back shopping portal that’s available to Discover cardholders. If you were in the first year of your Discover It card, you could earn double the cashback percentage with Cashback Match.
On October 31, 2018, Discover Deals will end. Discover is retiring the program, and any pending rewards will be added to your account as usual.
It seems like Discover is gradually removing key features that made it a keeper card a year ago. A few benefits that were removed earlier this year:
Auto Rental Insurance $25k LDW: No new claims will be accepted after 5/29/18.
Extended Product Warranty: Purchases made before 2/28/18 will be covered under the original terms and conditions for the benefit.
Flight Accident: Flight purchases made before 2/28/18 will be covered under the original terms and conditions for the benefit.
Purchase Protection: No new claims will be accepted after 7/13/18.
Return Guarantee: No new claims will be accepted after 5/29/18.
Discover Deals: No longer available after 10/31/2018.
With the removal of Discover Deals, my Discover card might have a new home in the sock drawer since it’s no longer in the first year. The Discover Deals portal shined when it came to buying electronics from Apple and Best Buy, which gave up to a 20% discount with Cashback Match.
