If you have elite status at a qualifying competing airline, you can request a Medallion Status Match Challenge to try Delta Medallion Status. You’ll receive the equivalent Medallion Status for three months, and if you successfully complete the challenge, you can extend your Medallion Status.

Who can request a SkyMiles Medallion Status Match Challenge?

In order to qualify, you must not have received a Status Match or complimentary Medallion Status in the past three years.
How to request a SkyMiles Medallion Status Match Challenge
To request a status match challenge:
Have elite status at one of the qualifying airlines listed above this section.
You will be asked to submit documentation to prove your current elite status which includes credentials (like a membership card) AND a mileage statement showing your earned elite status
Submit your request on Delta Airline’s website: https://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/skymiles/medallion-program/status-match-challenge.html
Once your request is approved, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the challenge and matched to the respective status for 3 months. You can extended status past the 3 months if you meet the challenge requirements.
How to extend Medallion Status past 3 months
To keep your respective status from the challenge, you’ll need earn enough MQMs or MQSs AND spend a certain amount to get MQDs or MQD Waivers.
If you enroll in the challenge on or after July 1, 2018 and complete the requirements, your Medallion Status will be extended through January 31, 2020.
