The reason why the Chase IHG card is one of our favorite hotel cards is that it's a keeper card that gives you positive expected value every year as long as you use the anniversary night.

Do IHG certificate nights expire?

Yes, IHG anniversary certificates expire after one year. The good news is you don't have to book travel within the year. Unlike other hotel reward programs, you can book advance dates outside the one year window with IHG certificates.
