Delta 2 Cents Per Point on Vacation Packages

Delta is running a promotion to redeem SkyMiles at a rate of 2 cents per point (CPP) when using them towards a flight + hotel vacation package. The promotion expires on Saturday, Aug 30, 2019.

Direct link to offer: https://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/shop/delta-vacations.html

Be sure to price out the hotels and flights to see if you’re getting a good deal or not. We typically value Delta points at 1.2 CPP, so anything above that is a good deal!

For example, we found a vacation package for 177,000 SkyMiles that included one week at the Royal Hawaiian (Luxury Collection Resort) and two round trip flights.

CardMatch: Amex Platinum 100k Offer

CardMatch is a tool that checks for pre-qualified and targeted card offers.

A few people have mentioned that they are being targeted for the Amex Platinum 100k offer via CardMatch. People who are currently not an American Express customer have a higher chance of being targeted for increased offers.

Charles Schwab Amex Platinum 100k Offer

There is a targeted 100k point offer after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months of account opening for the Charles Schwab Platinum card. An increased offer for the Schwab Platinum card is rare, so I recommend jumping on the offer if you have it.

Targeted offers were sent out via email. It seems like you need to receive the email to qualify for the promotion. If you are not targeted for the offer and apply using the link below, there’s no guarantee that Amex will honor it.

United Airlines Frequent Miles No Longer Expire

Effective immediately, United Airline Miles no longer expire! This seems like a direct response to Delta miles not expiring.

United miles can be transferred to Star Alliance partners.

Chase Adds Emirates as an Airline Transfer Partner

Emirates Skywards is now a Chase travel transfer partner. Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer to Emirates at 1:1 rate, but I suggest doing some research first.

It’s hard to use Emirates Skywards advantageously unless your departing city is in Australia, Hong Kong, or New Zealand. Any other routes have hefty taxes and fuel charges. I might do a deep dive about this in a future post.

Chase British Airways Card Adds New Surcharge Rebate Benefit

The British Airways Visa Signature® Card added a few new benefits to the card:

  1. Earn 2x miles on all direct hotel purchases

  2. Get up to $600 in statement credits for flight taxes and fees each year

The British Airways card is affected by the Chase 5/24 rule. If you have opened 5 or more credit cards or charge cards from any issuer in the past 24 months, you’ll automatically get rejected.
