American Express Revamps Delta Credit Card Benefits and Annual Fees

Major changes are coming to the co-branded American Express Delta credit cards. Starting on January 30, 2020, cards will earn additional spending multipliers and benefits. Some benefits like MQD waivers are being removed on select cards. Watch the video at the end of the post if you’re curious about my thoughts on the changes for each card.

Along with added benefits comes an increased annual fees. Any cards opened now until January 29, 2020, will be grandfathered with the lower annual fee until your Card’s renewal date.

For example, if you open a card in October 2019, you’ll be charged the lower annual fee on the first statement. When Oct 2020 rolls around for renewal, the increased annual fee will be charged.
